Through the Nature of the Game I seek to grow and support the arts in all its forms by partnering with the best photographers, artists, sculptors, and musicians to deliver creative content to all those who appreciate the game.  This page will serve as a gallery to selectively showcase the works of many of these talented artists.  Over time, I’ll be building The Nature of the Game Collection, a series of 18 works that creatively align with the 18 vignettes of the film.

The first artist I am highlighting is incredible painter, Joshua CF Smith.  Josh is not only an amazing talent with the brush, he’s also a golf course superintendent, has built greens and bunkers with his own hands, is a great stick, a true student of the game, and a stellar guy.  He sells original paintings, limited edition prints, and is available  (preferably) for commissions.  If world class architects like Tom Doak and Kyle Phillips, and Bandon Dunes’ developer Mike Keiser (to name a few) all own his paintings, perhaps you should, too.  Here are a few of my favorites of some courses I’ve played.  If you like what you see, visit Josh’s website, contact him at or 925.639.8446, and let him know you found him here at The Nature of the Game.
